Zen Doodle: Tons of Tangles by Tonia Jenny and Amy Jones is another “tangle” book.  While many of the pieces of art in the book use standard Zentangle tangles there are new ones too.

6 out of 10 stars.  My only complaint, and this is a big one, is that the “authors” are not the artists contained in the book.  Instead they are editors from a publishing company who gather together other people’s art and put it into a book.  I’d much rather see the authors put together their own books.

Here are a few examples from the book.

If you’ve followed the Zentangle movement from the beginning you’ll notice a lot of familiar tangles or doodles.  But you’ll also see some creative ways to use them together and form figures and shapes.  I particularly liked the star design on page 60, the sun design on page 46, the phases of the moon zendala, and the spiral design on page 35.

6 out of 10 stars.  Of all the Zen Doodle books this was my favorite.
