Still Here (2020)

Still Here is a 2020 murder mystery.

2 out of 10 stars.  This was really poorly written and slow.  Half the film is self help group meetings with unrelated dialogue.

A twelve year old black girl goes missing, Monique Watson.  Her father Michael goes door to door questioning people.  Eventually this gets the attention of a news reporter who figures out their neighbor, a teenage black boy, took her.  Marcus is a pedophile who rapes children (he’s 19).  He finally gets questioned by the police (thanks to the reporter, not the dad) and tells them where he dumped her body.  Miraculously, she’s still alive.  And of course Michael takes credit for it.

2 out of 10 stars.  The only thing I liked about this film was that it exposed reverse racism, that is black people who distrust anyone who is white or just not black and yet who blindly trust other blacks.  The dad Michael refused to believe the neighbor did it solely because he was black and actually accused the reporter of being racist for accusing him.  :0
