Sew Up a Home Makeover by Lexie Barnes is another kids project sewing book.
0 out of 10 stars. I’m an experienced seamstress so I look for certain things in a sewing project book, but accuracy always comes first. If the author clearly does not have basic common sense and at least an intermediate knowledge of sewing, she should not be producing a book. This author clearly is not experienced. The shades were done improperly. Most of the other projects were cloth covers for something else, i.e. glue fabric on this. The 12 room makeovers focused on things that most kids don’t even have in their rooms. At the very least I expected a decent pillow sham, sheet, blanket tutorial but that was completely missing. Even basic drapes would’ve been easy enough to include, but those were missing too. There were really lame projects that had little to no sewing involved.
Projects
0 out of 10 stars. As you can see the few projects that actually require sewing are very basic and very unattractive. I was also very annoyed with the shortage of photographs. Sewing is a very visual craft.
