The Incredibles 2 is the 2018 long awaited sequel to The Incredibles.

10 out of 10 stars. It’s pretty darned funny. Love Jack Jack and Edna.

The story begins with the Parr family without a home. In addition to that there’s a problem with their daughter’s identity since she was seen without her mask by a boy from school who had just asked her out on a date. Their handler sets them up in a motel for two weeks and wipes the boy’s memory. But he’s just been reassigned and none of the supers will have handlers anymore. They’re on their own. Using superpowers is still illegal.

Now Mr. Incredible (Bob Parr) and Elastigirl (Helen Parr) are faced with a dilemma. Who goes to work and who stays home with the kids (Violet, Dash, and Jack-Jack)? Bob’s last job with the insurance company was horrific but he’s willing to go to work again. Then two billionaire siblings who own the tech company DevTech want to hire Helen to be the face of their new political movement to get using superpowers legalized again. The job comes with a mansion and they move right in. Meanwhile the siblings, Winston and Evelyn, put a tiny videocamera in Helen’s suit to videotape her saving the world. This publicity campaign works really well, but things at home are not so successful as Bob tries to handle helping Dash with “new math”, Violet with her boyfriend troubles, and keeping control of Jack Jack who has 17 superpowers including disappearing into another dimension.

Highlights of this film are the moments with Jack Jack and Edna and the fight between Jack Jack and the raccoon which is hilarious.

The villain is Screenslaver who eventually takes control of both Helen and Bob as well as their friend Frozone. The kids come to the rescue, as I expected.

10 out of 10 stars. This one is just as charming as the original.
