The Closer was a TV series that began in 2005 and lasted for seven seasons. Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson is head of the Priority Murder Squad which investigates priority murders in the Los Angeles area.
10 out of 10 stars. This series was one of the best series on television. It started to go downhill at the end of season 5 and by season 6 and 7 had lost most of its fans, but the first five seasons were very well done.
Episode 1 Blue Blood
In episode 1 of season 2, Blue Blood, a cop whose son has cancer kills his ex-partner when he finds out the man is his son’s biological father (he had an affair with his wife) and he refuses to donate bone marrow. 8 out of 10 stars.
Episode 2 Mom Duty
In episode 2 of season 2, Mom Duty, a juror dies of a heart attack. Her mother-in-law laced her vitamins with Digoxin rather than be put in a retirement home. 8 out of 10 stars.

One of my favorite episodes of the series.

The team discovers that he’d found out he was HIV positive and confronted the director only to discover they’d intentionally hid the fact that they infected him with HIV. 10 out of 10 stars. Episode 8 Critical Missing
In episode 8 of season 2, Critical Missing, a man murders his Japanese wife and four year old daughter and the team discovers they weren’t his first murders–he killed his first wife too. 10 out of 10 stars.
Episode 9 Heroic Measures
In episode 9 of season 2, Heroic Measures, a surgeon intentionally lets a 9 year old boy die on the table rather than survive in less than perfect condition. 2 out of 10 stars. One of the worst episodes in the series. At one point the mother does an autopsy on her own son and it’s graphic.

In episode 12 of season 2, No Good Deed, a murderer on death row convinces a prison groupie to convince her friend to be an eyewitness for his defense then has him murdered so he can’t back out of his testimony. 10 out of 10 stars. 10 out of 10 stars. Police procedurals are popular because when written cleverly they’re very satisfying. This is one of those series.
