Slender Man (film)

Slender Man is a 2018 horror film.

0 out of 10 stars.  The Slender Man character was created by an online troll who wanted to get famous.  When his postings resulted in two 12 year old girls stabbing a third 12 year old girl in Wisconsin he still continued with his posts.  The movie is more of the same dumb garbage that’s on his site.

So this story begins with four teenage girls played by adult women and it showed.  They end up in a chat room with links to the Slender Man site and so they watch a video that’s posted on that site.  Once the video is watched and the viewer hears three bells ring then they’re “possessed” and will eventually disappear.

After the first two girls disappear, the third begins investigating the Slender Man cult and finds references in books to a “bio identity” which is like an electronic parasite that takes over bodies until they completely disappear into another dimension.  This was so hokey it was laughable.

The entire film is jump scares from loud music, blurry camera work, shaky camera work, and cgi shadows overlaid on the regular film.  So it’s pretty low budget stuff.

I was bored ten minutes in right up until the non-ending.

0 out of 10 stars.  Terrible.  Watch Beware the Slenderman, the HBO documentary.
